QUICK OPENING CLOSURE

The quick opening closures manufactured by Forain for medium and high pressures, in size from 2″ to 72″ are available in the following models:

Threaded Type, Jaws Type, Cams Type
Threaded type, recommended for small diameters, is provided with ACME threads and needs only three turns for opening or closing it. A dovetail groove is machined into the weld neck tapered surface to securely contain the ‘O ring’ gasket which guarantees the perfect seal.

In the remaining models, the door is kept closed by means of an external ring: in the jaws type such a ring is operated by two drawbolts; in the cams type the locking is obtained by a crown gear placed on the door. The seal is guaranteed by an ‘O ring’ gasket placed in the hub. A pressure warning device prevents from opening the door when the unit is under pressure.
The most commonly used quick opening closure is the Jaws type as shown in the pictures F1 and F2.

Forain’s quick opening closures are manufactured according to the main international codes and are suitable for installation on filters, scraper traps, blowdowns, pressure vessels and many others applications.
